Abstract

ABSTRACT The Effect of Principal Managerial Competence on Teacher Professionalism at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Pekanbaru GOPINDA ADITYA PUTRA 152410036 This research was motivated by the problem of teacher professionalism that occurred in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. One of the problems that occur in some teachers such as lack of enthusiasm when teaching, the purpose of learning is not clear, discipline is less effective and others. The teacher should be able to express his enthusiasm when teaching, according to the learning objectives, apply discipline and others. This study aims to determine the effect of principal managerial competence on teacher professionalism at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. This type of research is quantitative research. The population and sample in this study were all educators at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Pekanbaru, totaling 52 educators. Ways to collect data using questionnaires and documentation. This study consists of two variables, X (Managerial Competence of Principals) and Y (Teachers' Professionalism). From the results of the analysis of hypothesis testing with a significant value, namely p = 0.000 <0.05, it can be interpreted that there is an influence of principal managerial competence on teacher professionalism at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. The magnitude of the effect can be seen in the summary table with an R Square value of 0.570 or 57%. This means that teacher professionalism is influenced by the managerial competence of the principal by 57% with quite strong criteria. So, it can be concluded that this study has an influence on the managerial competence of the principal on the professionalism of teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Pekanbaru.
