Abstract

Bullying cases are increasingly prevalent in Indonesia and every year has increased since the advent of social media. Bullying is does not only done physically, but verbally and also psychologically. This case does not only attacks someone physically, but also attack someone’s psychic. There are still many people who consider bullying an ordinary thing, even observes of children also saw bullying as if it still seems to be a tradition. The musicians felt it was important to raise social themes about bullying into a song. This research focuses on how the act of bullying is depicted in the lyrics of Para Penerka, a song created by Iwan Fals and Ariel NOAH. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotic analysis model by dividing the entire lyrics into several lines and lines based on the researchers identification through forms of verbal bullying by looking at the signifier aspects and signified aspects. The results showed that from the lines analyzed, it was seen that actions commonly carried out by bullying perpetrators were insulting, denouncing, mocking / mocking, and slandering. Where the perpetrators of bullying and cyberbullying are also dominated by teenagers and quite significantly increased among adolescents using social media including body shaming. This song was created by the creator of anxiety about bullying cases that are increasingly rampant. With the presence of social media, some cases of bullying have become viral. The perpetrators of bullying was dominated by teenagers. This happens because these teenagers need recognition from their environment.
