Abstract

This research is motivated by the rise of the Hijrah phenomenon that occurs in the community, especially for teenagers and adults. It exists in all districts especially in the Pekanbaru city, which is increasingly experience in the many different backgrounds. The focus of this study is to analyze the Hijrah phenomenon from the Ribawi Job. This study is a purpose to determine the meaning and motives of Hijrah Actors in the X bank Pekanbaru community. In this study, the author uses a qualitative research method with the phenomenological approach of Alfred Schutz which aims to find motives and meanings of the Hijrah Actors. In the study of phenomenal Alfred Schutz, this motive is divided into two motives. The first one is “because of motives (history motives)”, which means something that makes the informants doing hijrah. Another one is “in order to motives” it is related to what hopes or goals which the informants hope to achieve after doing hijrah. This research involves 7 people of Ribawi Job as informants. The result shows that the meaning of Hijrah for them is to leave the prohibited Shari'a towards obedience, become a better personality (move from bad to good), and get closer to Allah or return to Allah and the Messenger of Allah. There are two motives which influence them to do Hijrah. The first motive is because of motive which is due to self-awareness to repent of Ribawi activities. This motive is driven by a feeling fidgety in life and poster propaganda or Islamic studies. Another motive is called in order to motive which is mean keep istiqomah, looking for the halal subsistence (God's blessing), and motivation to continue learning about Islamic law and implement it to the family and the environment.
