Abstract

This research was motivated by teachers’ effort in developing students’ achievement motivation at elementary school 010 North Tambusai. In order to make students did not feel bored, and even interest and motivation should be improved in studying, it needed teachers’ role as motivator. Basically, teachers were not only as educators, but also, they had role as motivator to their students. This research was very important because it tried to explain about students’ achievement motivation and how teachers’ effort in developing it. The purpose in this research examined to know students’ achievement motivation at elementary school 010 Nort Tambusai, the effort of teachers in developing it. This study would give contribution to literature that developed about this unique theory and it would be used as reference for schools in improving students’ achievement motivation to reach the achievement. The research formulation questioned about the teachers’ effort in developing achievement motivation in Islamic education learning at elementary school 010 Nort Tambusai. This research object was achievement motivation, the method used qualitative with case study approach. The main informant was Islamic education teacher at elementary school 010 North Tambusai Mrs Darniati S.Pd.I, and the supporting informant was Mr. Suyanto S.Pd. data collection technique used interview, data computation and analysis used data given, transcript, coding and categorization, and interpretation. The research finding explained that there was any effort by teachers in developing students’ achievement motivation such as: giving approach to students, understanding characters of students personally, using various learning methods, became parent, guiding students to be active, giving effort and advice, creating happy teaching and learning circumstance, giving reward to diligent and active student, giving punishment and salutation, giving advice, giving solution and improving beliefs, became role model, giving inspiration, applying schools order, teaching with students based learning, using supporting tools in teaching, using contextual media, and giving challenging questions.
