Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the increase of economic welfare of the community in the neighborhood of Musthafawiyah Purba Baru Islamic Boarding School and to determine the perspective of sharia economics on the increase of economic welfare of the community in the neighborhood of the Musthafawiyah Purba Baru Islamic Boarding School. The type of this study is field research with a qualitative descriptive analysis approach. Qualitative is an approach of phenomenon by observing and investigating certain problems or circumstances of the research object. The method of this study is descriptive qualitative, which is used to describe and answer the problems of a phenomenon in a single variable, correlation or comparison of various variables. Qualitative descriptive research describes a situation or a fact that is the center of attention without giving special treatment to it. Based on the results of the study, the increase of community welfare in the neighbourhood of Musthafawiyah Islamic Boarding School can be seen from the community's efforts to look into and take advantage of existing opportunities. The community around the Musthafawiyah Purba Baru Islamic Boarding School take advantage of the large number of students who live around their homes, by opening businesses such as stalls which sell food and equipment for students. In addition, the community also offers services, such as laundry and also the practice of leasing land. The increase of economic welfare in the neighborhood of Musthafawiyah Islamic Boarding School is in accordance with the perspective of sharia economics, this is known from the fulfillment of pillars and conditions in the implementation.
