Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FAMILY FUNCTION WITH ADOLESCENT'S DELIVERY IN SMP NEGERI 1 BUKIT BATU Dian Indriani 178110057 FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY OF RIAU ABSTRACT Juvenile delinquency is a symptom of social disease in children and adolescents caused by social neglect, which causes adolescents to develop deviant behavior. One of the triggering factors for juvenile delinquency is family dysfunction which is characterized by frequent fights in the family, separated parents, disorganized conditions, parents who ignore their responsibilities and roles towards children. Families that do not carry out their functions properly can have an influence on the emergence of delinquency in adolescents, because adolescents born to dysfunctional families have their own assessment that home is not a pleasant place. This study aims to determine the relationship between family functioning and juvenile delinquency at SMPN 1 Bukit Batu. The subjects of this study were the adolescent students of SMPN 1 Bukit Batu. The number of samples in this study were 180 people. The sampling technique used stratified sampling with an error rate of 5%. The data analysis method used is Spearman rank correlation analysis. The results of statistical analysis showed a correlation of 0.743 with a significance value of 0.000 (ρ<0.05). This shows that there is a significant relationship with a negative direction between family functioning and juvenile delinquency at SMPN 1 Bukit Batu. That is, the higher the functioning of the family, the lower the juvenile delinquency, and vice versa, the lower the functioning of the family, the higher the juvenile delinquency.
