Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of Al-Qur’an recitation mastery of students in Islamic Education Study Program in Islamic faculty at Islamic University of Riau. The lack of Al-Qur’an recitation mastery could be seen from the symptoms: 1) some of students could not recite Al-Qur’an well in presenting paper, 2) some of students’ could not recite Al-Qur’an with appropriate “Tajwid”, 3) some of students could not spell “Makhrajul huruf” in appropriate spelling. The purpose in this research examined the effect of Al-Qur’an recitation guidance toward Al-Qur’an recitation mastery of students’ academic year 2019 Islamic education study program of Islamic faculty at Islamic university of Riau. This research used quantitative with correlational approach. The population in this research was 174 students. Sampling technique used slovin formula with margin error 5%. The sample took 121 students. Data collection technique used questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis technique used normality test, linearity test and hypothesis test by using SPSS Application version 22. Meanwhile, this research finding showed that hypothesis testing was accepted, it meant that there was an effect of Al-Qur’an recitation guidance toward Al-Qur’an recitation mastery of students’ academic year 2019 in Islamic Education Study Program in Islamic faculty at Islamic University of Riau. The effect showed in 0.291 or 29.1%, it was classified into low category. It was in range 0.20-0.399 in interpretation correlation coefficient.
