Abstract

In general people do a thousand ways to survive and avoid pain, but for some people hurting themselves is a form of satisfaction in itself. Self-harm is known as behavior in which a person injures himself intentionally to vent emotions that cannot be expressed in words even though the person does not wish to end his life. This behavior can be said to be deviant behavior if it is not in accordance with the values of decency or propriety, in religion nor individually. In this research, the problem will be reviewed using the theory of Neutralization of Criminology using qualitative methods and explanatory research types. The data sources that support this research are primary data obtained directly from the first party. Based on the results of the research that has been obtained, it is concluded that self-harm deviant behavior occurs due to internal and external factors.
