Abstract

This study is to determine, analyze and evaluate the performance of the Riau Malay Traditional Institution in Pekanbaru City, while the indicators used are effectiveness, efficiency, coverage, equity, responsiveness and accuracy. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive survey research type with the research location at the Riau Malay Traditional Institute of Pekanbaru City. Furthermore, the informants in this study included the Chairperson of the Riau Malay Traditional Institute of Pekanbaru City, the Pekanbaru City Culture and Tourism Office and the Pekanbaru City Cross-Cultural Society. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observations and documentation which are then analyzed using data analysis according to Craswell. The results of this study are the performance of the Riau Malay Customary Institution in Pekanbaru City is not good because this institution has not been able to carry out its duties and functions optimally, overall its weaknesses are still related to the implementation of daily institutional operations in the implementation of the preservation of traditional values and social values regional culture has not been able to materialize as desired and also from internal factors, namely in the form of less supportive human resources being an obstacle which resulted in some activities at the Riau Malay Traditional Institute of Pekanbaru City not going so well.
