Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction and main effect of POC Jengkol Skin and Urea on the growth and production of maize. The research has been carried out at the Experimental Garden of UPT UIRA Farm Agro FP UIR, Jl. Binoculars No. 62, Kab. Kampar for 4 months from March to June 2021. The design used in this study was a two-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD), the first factor was giving jengkol skin POC (K) which consisted of 4 levels, namely 0, 3, 6, and 9 cc/l and the second factor was Urea (N) fertilizer which consisted of 4 levels, namely 0, 3, 6, and 9 g/plant, in order to obtain 16 treatment combinations consisting of 3 replications for a total of 48 experimental units. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, age of flowering, age of harvest, weight of cobs, length of cobs, coils of cobs, number of seeds per cob, weight of dry shells per cob, and weight of 100 seeds per cob 14%. Observational data obtained were statistically tested and further tested by 5% BNJ. The results showed that the interaction effect of Jengkol Peel and Urea POC was significant on the parameters observed for the number of leaves, cob weight, and cob coils. The best treatment was a combination of POC Jengkol bark at a concentration of 9 cc/l and Urea at a dose of 6 g/plant (K3N2). The main effect of Jengkol Peel POC was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment was POC Jengkol Skin with a concentration of 9 cc/l (K3). The main effect of Urea has a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment was Urea at a dose of 6g/plant (N2).
