Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of interaction and main POC of catfish culture wastewater and organic NPK on the growth and production of bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.). The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was carried out for 3 months starting from February to April 2021. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of 2 factors, the first factor was POC of Catfish Cultivation Wastewater and the second factor was Organic NPK, each of which consisted of 4 levels of treatment. Parameters observed were: plant length, stem diameter, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit length per fruit, fruit diameter and number of fruit residues. The research data were analyzed statistically and continued with the 5% BNJ test. The results showed that the interaction effect of POC in catfish culture wastewater and organic NPK had a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment was the administration of a combination of POC in catfish culture wastewater 200 ml/l and organic NPK 30 g/plant. The main effect of POC in catfish culture wastewater had a significant effect on all observed parameters. The best treatment was giving 200 ml/l of POC of catfish culture wastewater. The main effect of organic NPK had a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment was giving organic NPK 30 g/plant.
