Abstract
This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharudin Nasution Km 11, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The research was carried out for 5 months starting from April 2020 to July 2020. This study aims to determine the interaction and main effect of Planting Distance and Palm Ash Janjang on the Growth and Yield of Shallots (Allium Ascalonicum L). The research design used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor is the spacing (J), which consists of 4 levels, namely 10 x 20 cm, 20 x 20 cm, 20 x 25 cm, 25 x 25 cm. The second factor is the Dose of Palm Oil Ash (K), consisting of 4 levels, namely 0 g per plot, 500 g per plot, 1000 g per plot, and 1500 g per plot. So that there were 16 treatments with 3 replications, 48 experimental units were obtained. The observed parameters consisted of 7 parameters, namely plant height, number of leaves, age of harvest, number of tubers, wet weight of tubers per clump, dry weight of tubers per clump and tuber weight loss. The data were statistically analyzed and continued with the honest significant difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of spacing and ash of oil palm bunches had a significant effect on the number of leaves but had no significant effect on plant height, number of tubers, harvest age, wet weight per clump, dry weight per clump, tuber weight loss. The effect of the main factors on the spacing treatment was significant on plant height, number of leaves, age of harvest, number of tubers, wet weight per clump, dry weight per clump. but did not significantly affect tuber shrinkage. The best treatment was at a spacing of 20 x 20 cm (J2). The effect of the main factors on the treatment of oil palm ash was significant for all parameters. The best treatment was at a dose of 1000 g/plot (K2).
