Abstract

Clay is a pure mineral found in hot and solid rock. Based on previous research on the use of local bentonite, it was found that the type of illite platy clay can be made as bentonite material that has met API13 standard for drilling mud supply. With the help of bentonite demand in the past 10 years in Indonesia, one of which is in the oil and gas industry, it is very uneconomic to support the use of bentonite. The total volume of clay reserves in the area of Jln. Rhinos are counted using geoelectric tools. The way this geoelectric works is by stretching cables between 4 location points and the distance of each point reaches 250 meters. then obtained the results of illite platy clay reserves of 806,656,914.25 tons with the potential to be obtained at 12,000 tons per year. The purpose of this research is to obtain investment feasibility in developing the local bentonite plant. Net Present Value (NPV), Return Of Investment (ROI), Pay Out Time (POT), Break Even Point (BEP) and Shut Down Point (SDP). The results of the investment appraisal of the factory feasibility show that the factory is feasible to be established with NPV value (Rp. 1,689.0963,175), ROI (Rp. 6,310,876,000), POT (2.68 years), BEP (Rp. 2,144,376,693), SDP (SDP (Rp. 2,144,376,693), SDP (Rp. IDR 21,443,766,930).
