Abstract

ABSTRACT THE ROLE OF PARENTING PROGRAM IN PARENTING PATTERN AT KINDERGARTEN PEMBINA 3 PEKANBARU By: YOAN SARASEHAN NPM:162510018 Children are future investment, and their quality will determine a nation advancement. Therefore, parents should understand about children’s growth and development needs. Their growth must be in their age. Education cannot separate from three things, family, school, and society. This research done with the purpose to examine the role of parenting program in parenting pattern. This research used descriptive qualitative design. This research took place at kindergarten Pembina 3 Pekanbaru with two teachers and three parents at kindergarten Pembina 3 Pekanbaru as research subject. This research finding showed that parents played an important role in giving parenting parent to their children, and it could be seen from; (1) the harmonization of education at home and school, (2) they had knowledge about children’s progress at school, (3) they had skill and competence about childcare at home, and (4) school and parents established strong relationship to reach children’s learning objectives.
