Abstract
Palm oil theft is rife because it has high economic value. The perpetrators of the theft will carry out the action when the situation around the oil palm plantations is quiet, for example at night. The perpetrators of oil palm theft are generally carried out by adult offenders, but there are also many groups of adolescents who also make the harvest of oil palm as a theft crime area. The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of adolescents involved in oil palm theft in Lubuk Bendahara Village. Data collection is done by using interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique of this research will use descriptive analysis of qualitative data. Based on the results of the study found the main cause of adolescents committing crimes of theft by weighting is the surrounding environmental factors, namely their peergroups. From this peergroup they then "learn" to become a palm fruit thief. All propositions put forward by Sutherland can be found in this study. In other words it can be said that the model of crime in carrying out deviations in certain subcultures (gangs) is a good example for the formation of other people's criminal behavior.
