Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of information technology in the field of education, one of which is Augmented Reality technology which can be used as a learning medium for plant tissue. At this time, the learning media that are often used are books that contain writing and only a few pictures which makes it difficult for students to study the structure of plant tissue itself because the tissue structure can only be seen using viewing aids such as a microscope. Technology such as Augmented Reality can be used as a learning medium because it can display 3-dimensional objects from plant tissue structures using a camera. To build this augmented reality learning media application using the Unity game engine and using the ARCore SDK library. This application is useful as a learning medium and will be used in the Biology Education study program at the Islamic University of Riau, namely on plant tissue material. Based on testing at a distance of 10 cm to 500 cm the application can still be displayed, and the maximum distance that can be detected by a markerless track is 500 cm. based on light intensity testing the animation can be displayed outdoors or indoors and can track any location with a minimum light intensity of 17 lux. Based on the results of user testing, a score of 82% was obtained with a total of 21 respondents, so this application can be implemented as a learning medium for plant tissue structures
