Abstract

Perception is the initial step of a sequence of processing the accepted information. Food is the human right which determines the quality of human resources themselves. The fulfillment of food at each household and the availability of sufficient food, either from the number and its quality, safety, equality, and affordability is called as food diversification or food security. This esearch involved 400 samples residing in Pekanbaru City and four districts were chosen by using simple random sampling such as Bukit Raya District, Marpoyan Damai District, Tampan District, and Tenayan Raya District. The research instrument consisted of 23 question items based on the perception aspect with Alpha Cronbach’s 0.861 using descriptive statistics analysis through SPSS 22.00 For windows program. The research results show that the perception of Pekanbaru City Community towards food diversification is categorized into quite good with percentage 33.8%. In general, the perception of Pekanbaru City community towards food diversification is quite good.
