Abstract

Over time, producing fluids will require no small amount of money to produce fluids in an oil field, so that the characteristics of the formation of oil fields undergo many changes. The characteristics of the formation are important in designing the initial completion of the well. The problem of sand content is a concern because it can reduce production, sand problems also occur in well I in field R, this is due to unconsolidated sandstone cementation which leads to the stability of the sand grain bonds. determined based on the calculation of the uniformity of the sand grains, where Schwartz made an approach to determine the size by multiplying 6 times the diameter 40% (6 x d40) and 6 times the diameter 90% (6 x 890) and in general the screening size ranges up to 2/3 if the size of the smallest Gravel diameter. The smallest Gravel size in well I is 0.018 inch, so 2/3 of 0.018 is 0.012 this size corresponds to the size of Gravel and Screen in general, namely Gravel size 20/40 Mesh and screen liner size of 0.012 inch. The number of Gravel packs and Kels in the design of overcoming the sand problem in well I is 152 sacks of sand packs, and 2556 lb of slurry in the form of KCL. Agar can be used to reduce the sand problem which is quite large.
