Abstract

This research was conducted on 12 male basketball athletes of SMP Negeri 13 Pekanbaru, this study aims to determine the contribution of wrist flexion and leg muscle power to the shoot-up lay-up of basketball athletes at SMP Negeri 13 Pekanbaru. The type of research used in this study is correlation. The research instrument used was a wrist flexion test, a vertical jump test and a basketball layup shoot test. Based on the results of data analysis and hypothesis testing obtained, for the contribution of wrist flexion to basketball shoot layup or variable X1 to Y it is obtained r count <r table or 0.356 <0.602, for leg muscle explosive power to the basketball shoot or variable lay up ability to Y, r count <rtable or 0.346 <0.602, while for the contribution of wrist flexion and leg muscle explosive power to the basketball shoot or varibael ability to shoot X1, X2 to Y, r count <rtable or 0.426 <0.602. wrist and leg muscle power to the ability to lay-shoot shoot while there is a contribution to the ability to lay-shoot shoot male basketball athletes as much as 18% and the remaining 82% is influenced by other factors.
