Abstract

This study aims to determine the Aesthetic Value of Zapin Kemilau Dance Dressing in the 634-Art Community of Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. This study uses the theory put forward by Dharsono Sony Kartika with the discussion that beauty is basically a number of certain basic qualities contained in a thing. The qualities that are often referred to are Unity, Harmony, Balance and Contrast. This research method uses descriptive qualitative analysis using data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the clothing used in the dance created by Zapin Kemilau uses Riau's daily Malay clothing which consists of a crown, flowers, bun, shawl, brackets kebaya laboh shirt, brooch, bengkung and flower skirt. Zapin Kemilau dance clothing has components that are closely related to each other that cannot be separated. The Zapin Kemilau dance outfit has six colors, namely green, blue, yellow, red, pink, and purple. These colors give the impression of the Malay people in the village in ancient times. From head accessories, tops, bottoms, and auxiliary accessories, they have a symmetrical balance, there is a mixture of colors and some are the same color. The contrasts used are red, pink, yellow, green, blue and purple. These colors have a very high contrast. This contrast gives the impression of luxury and has a deep meaning.
