Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out the contribution of leg muscle explosive power to the ability to run 100 meters sprint athletes in the Adangsidimpuan Regency athletics. This type of research is a correlation which is defined as a statistical tool, which can be used to measure two different variables in order to increase the level of relationship between the variables. The population in this study were all athletes in Padangsidimpuan District, amounting to 25 people. Sampling in this study was the total sampling of the entire population sampled totaling 25 people consisting of 10 solder and 15 sons. In this study using a test of leg muscle explosive power ) and the 100-meter sprint run test aims to determine how much the contribution of leg muscle explosive power to the ability to run 100-meter sprints in Padangsidimpuan County athletics. Based on the results of late research carried out on athletes in Padangsidimpuan Regency to find out the contribution of leg muscle explosive power to the ability to run 100 meters Sprint Athletes in Padangsidimpuan District athletes, it could be r = 0.91 including in either category. Then it can be concluded that there is a contribution of leg muscle explosive power to the ability to run 100 meters sprint athletics athletes in Padangsidimpuan Regency by 54.28%.
