Abstract

This study is a correlation study that aims to determine the relationship between the use of e-learning on students' cognitive learning outcomes at SMPN 31 Pekanbaru in the Science of Biology subject for the 2020/2021 academic year. The instruments used in data collection were questionnaires, interviews, observations and documentation. The sampling technique in this study used the Simple Random Sampling technique. The number of samples in this study were 125 students. Of the 40 statements tested, there are 32 valid statement items with a reliability value of 0.844 which are in the high reliability criteria. Based on the calculation, the cognitive learning outcomes of students at SMPN 31 Pekanbaru in the science subjects for the 2020/2021 academic year are included in the medium category, which is 53.6%. The results of the data analysis of the correlation coefficient (rcount) of 0.24 with a significance level of 5% have a correlation in the low category. From hypothesis testing, it was obtained tcount (2.742) > ttable (1.657). This means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Then from the results of the analysis of the determination of the variable use of e -learning (X) it gave a positive contribution to th e cognitive learning outcomes (Y) obtained by students by 5.76% while 94.24% was determined by other factors not discussed in this study. The results of this study indicate that "There is a relationship between the use of e-learning on students' cognitive learning outcomes at SMPN 31 Pekanbaru in the Biology Science subject for the 2020/2021 Academic Year" with a low category.
