Abstract

This understanding is entitled the form of presentation of the Zapin Maharani dance in the village of Kuala Tolam Pelalawan regency Riau province. The formulation of the problem from this research is how is the form of presentation of the Maharani Zapin dance in the village of Kuala Tolam Pelalawan regency Riau Province. The purpose of this study is to describe the form of presentation of the Zapin Maharani dance. The type of research used in this study is a descriptive analysis type using interactive qualitative data. The subject of this research are the dancer, trainers and musicians of the Maharani studio. The object of this research is the Zapin Maharani dance. The data in this study were collected by interview, observasion and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed by means of data reduction, data presentation and data verication. The results of the study indicate that the Zapin Maharani dance is a traditional dance that has 6 types of movements including the opening step, dizziness, middle elbow, keluang, hanging broken chicks and worship the throne. This dance tends to use a veriety of floor patterns. This dance tells about a love atory between lovers. Is accompanied by two musical instruments, gambus and marwas. And accompanied by woman in the form of Malay rhymes, but this dance is taken from the title for girls in the royal era. Regarding the make up used in the Zapin Maharani dance, it is beautiful make up and stage dashing make up, then about the female dancer clothing using the brackets laboh clothes, a skirt or cloth besaide a bun and headdress, whilw male dancer wear baju kurung teluk belanga and wearing trousers that match the clothes.
