Abstract

The Godang Treatment Ritual is a ritual to treat sick people by asking for help from supernatural beings or jinn, this ritual is led by a chosen person (shaman), and 4 people in the general public which is carried out at 08:00 at night after the isha prayer which begins with taking water ablution, reading basmallah reading two sentences of creed, sholawat, and mantra after preparing offerings such as yellow rice, yellow rice, batiah, mayang betel nut, chicken eggs, grilled chicken, seven-colored porridge, kaffir lime, candles, flowers, coals and incense . The theory used by the author is the theory of Soedarsono (2002:26) The art of performing rituals has characteristics, namely: 1. A selected performance venue is required, which is usually considered sacred, 2. It is necessary to select the chosen day and time which is usually considered sacred, 3. Required selected players are usually considered holy, 4. Spells required, 5. Offerings required. In the implementation of this ritual, there are: 1. The place for the ritual is in Koto Medan Village, Kelayang District, Inhu Regency, 2. The execution time is 08:00 pm after the isha prayer, 3. The ritual players are 5 people, namely: Mustafa (shaman), Jusriana (Pebayu), Asmi and Iyen Tini (2 people who follow treatment), 4. Mantra to summon spirits or jinn, 5. Ritual offerings such as: yellow rice, yellow rice, batiah, mayang areca nut, free-range chicken eggs, chicken grilled, seven-colored pulp, kaffir lime, candles, flowers, coals and frankincense. Sources and types of data are primary data and secondary data. Primary data is observing the object under study, while secondary data is data that has been further processed and presented in the form of tables or diagrams. The research method used in this research is descriptive method using qualitative data using data collection techniques with observation, interviews and documentation techniques.
