Abstract

Social support can reduce the burden or problem seen by individuals so that it can be said that social assistance is a model of assistance that occurs because of individual cooperation that includes at least one part of feelings, assessments, data, and instruments to reduce the burden received by people. Work stress is one of the variables that must be considered by every working individual. Every worker who works in an organization will face conditions that make them powerless to deal with work stress. The perception of social support that emerged in this study was seen from a situation or event and event that was suspected of causing problems, including work stress and the assistance could be felt to increase positive feelings and raise the image and self-esteem of the HRD employees at PT Arara Abadi. Virgin. This study aims to determine the effect of social support on work stress of employees of the Human Resource Department (HRD) at PT Arara Abadi Perawang. The population and samples in this study were all employees of the Human Resource Department (HRD) at PT Arara Abadi Perawang with a total of 37 people. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive statistical analysis technique and inferential statistics using the validity, reliability, classical assumption test, simple linear regression, coefficient of determination and t test. The results of the study concluded that social support had a significant effect on work stress of employees of the Human Resource Department (HRD) at PT Arara Abadi Perawang, and the level of work stress variables for employees of the Human Resource Department (HRD) at PT Arara Abadi Perawang was influenced by social support with the contribution of the influence is 42.6%, although some other factors that are not included in this study also have an effect of 57.5%.
