Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between gratitude and happiness in students during the pandemic. In this study, there were 110 samples of students from the Islamic University of Riau who participated and were selected using the Cluster Random Sampling method. The rules of data collection in this study used the happiness scale compiled by Ananda (2021) and the Gratitude scale compiled by Surya (2018) where both scales have been modified by the researcher. The data analysis used in this study is Spearman Rank's correlation analysis and shows a correlation coefficient of 0.684 with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship with a positive direction between gratitude and happiness in college students during the pandemic. This means that the higher the level of gratitude, the higher the happiness and vice versa. The effective contribution of this research is 49%, which means that gratitude contributes 49% to happiness.
