Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of limb muscle power to football shooting ability of first semester students in class B of the Penjaskesrek Study Program of Islamic University of Riau. This type of research is a simple correlation. The population in this study were male students in the first semester of class B of the Islamic Education Department of Penjaskesrek Program, 35 people, the sampling technique was total sampling but in its implementation only 17 people could be taken. The instrument of this research was a test of standing broad jump and shooting test on goal. The results of calculations performed obtained a correlation index of 0.585. This value is in the range between 0.40 - 0.70 with sufficient correlation category, meaning that leg muscle power only contributes significantly to shooting skills in soccer games. the result of the comparison is 0.585> 0.482. because the calculated value is greater than the rtable value, the contribution between the variable X (leg muscle power) to the variable Y (football shooting) is a significant contribution. The conclusion that can be drawn from the results of this study is that there is a significant contribution of leg muscle power to football shooting ability of first semester students of class B of the Islamic Education Study Program in Riau Islamic University with a percentage of 34.2%.
