Abstract

The problem that is often faced by coconut farmers in Sapat Village is the instability of coconut prices that tend to be. Based on these problems, farmers utilize existing resources to support the successful development of coconut sugar farmers in the village of Sapat. This study aims to analyze (1) Entrepreneur Characteristics and Business Profile (2) Availability of raw materials and supporting materials, production processes and processing technology (3) Costs, production, income, efficiency, profits and added value obtained from the manufacture of coconut sugar. This research uses survey method. Determination of the location of the study was conducted purposively in the Sapat Village of Kuala Indargiri District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. Sampling was done by census, with the number of respondents taken as many as 10 coconut sugar entrepreneurs. The data collected consists of primary data and secondary data. The data analysis method used is qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study found that: characteristics of coconut sugar craftsmen an average age of 37.40 years, educational level of 5.70 years dependents of 3.50 people. Agro-industry business profile of coconut sugar business is an average of 2.3 workers in the family, land area of 0.66 Ha or as many as 28.8 tapping trees, plant age of 21.9 years, total capital of Rp. 1,520,000. The raw material for coconut palm juice available to businesses depends on the land owner, the technology used is still very simple, the production obtained in the form of palm juice is 51 liters and 9.6 kg of coconut sugar. the total cost of coconut sugar agro-industry is Rp. 105,864. coconut sugar business revenue of Rp. 124,800. gross income of coconut sugar entrepreneurs as much as Rp. 124,800 and net income of coconut sugar entrepreneurs as much as Rp. 18,936. Business efficiency of 1.17. Added value obtained from the coconut sugar agroindustry of Rp. 58,820 per process. The margin earned is Rp. 122,800 with a ratio of other input contributions of 52.10% with entrepreneur profit of 47.49% in one production.
