Abstract

The agricultural sector is a media source of raw materials in the agricultural product processing industry (agro-industry), such as cassava chip agro-industry. This study aims to determine and analyze (1) Characteristics of entrepreneurs and the profile of cassava chips agro-industry in Firm Business; (2) Production technology, use of production inputs, and production processes in Firm Business; and (3) The amount of production, production, income, efficiency, and value added costs from the Teguh Usaha cassava chips business in Sialangrampai Village, Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted by the case method in the firm business cassava chips agroindustry in Sialangrampai Village, Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City. Respondents taken from the census are the entrepreneurs of cassava chips agroindustry and the respondent of workforce taken intentionally are three workers. The data collected consists of primary data and secondary data. Analysis of the data used is production technology, the use of production inputs, production, production costs, income, efficiency (RCR) and value added. The results of this study illustrate that the age of the entrepreneur is 48 years old, the level of education is 12 years, the business experience is 10 years, and the number of family dependents is 5 people. As for the age of the workforce with an average of 41.67 years, 9-year education level, 5.33 business experience and the average number of family dependents 4.67 people. Cassava chips agro-industry business has been established since 2010, with a business age of 10 years, initial business capital of Rp 800,000 which comes from own capital. The technology used in cassava agro-industry is striving to produce output using simple technology. The use of 1500 kg cassava raw material / production process. The production process in this business starts from the stages of stripping, washing, cutting, frying, and packaging. Where the agro-industry production costs are Rp. 6,095,574 / production process, with a total production of 600 kg / production process. Gross income of Rp 12,000,000 / production process and net income of Rp 5,904,092 / production process. Efficiency (RCR) of 1.97. The added value obtained is Rp 4039.68 / Kg.
