Abstract

Over time, steam production in the SAR-1 well decreased from 2018 to 2019 by 12% per year, above the normal decline of 5.3% per year. The abnormal drop mass flow rate decline in the production well in the geothermal field indicates damage has occurred in the productive zone (feedzone). The formation damage that occurred in the SAR-1 well was caused by the formation of scale. The scale formed in the SAR-1 well is the calcite scale which is known from the analysis in the laboratory. Acidizing stimulation was carried out to solve the problem in the well. Acidizing stimulation was applied with 20% HCl acid using coiled tubing unit (CTU) technology. The coiled tubing method is carried out by injecting acid into the target interval monitoring to the injection rate and also the length of acidizing time. Evaluation of the results of tests carried out after acidizing showed that acidizing stimulation succeeded in improving the characteristics of the well. Acid stimulation work using coiled tubing in geothermal fields has shown a fairly high success rate. The steam production rate increased from 24.4 kg/s to 28.3 kg/s, the Injectivity Index increased from 17.42 L/s bar to 19.29 L/s bar, and the skin value decreased from +2.4 to - 1.0.
