Abstract

The decreasing oil production in an oil and gas field requires a special method to increase the value of production in a field. In the P field which has heavy oil criteria, the lifting method is used with an advanced stage, namely steam flooding. This method is applied because the system works which reduce the viscosity of the oil so that the oil is easier to flow. To optimize the performance of steam flooding, a method is used, namely the choke sizing system, where this method is intended to model the choke size of each injection well so that hot steam is distributed from the steam generator to each injection well according to the well's needs, and also this. intended to reduce the value of heat loss when hot steam distribution is carried out. In the P field, 20 types of injection wells that have problems were taken, where the problems in each injection well are still not in accordance with the target of each well. An injection well is said to be on target if the pressure and latent heat are met. This can be seen from the value of the heat compliance, heat compliance in accordance with the target category A. Of the 20 types of injection wells, all of them are categorized outside of category A. Then the choke size change is carried out by performing certain calculations using the choke sizing system method. After evaluating and monitoring, there were significant changes where there were 15 wells that had changed the heat compliance category to category A, but there were also 5 injection wells that had not changed and will continue to be evaluated. From the results of the choke sizing system work, there was also a change for the better, where each well has decreased by about 10-20%, although there are still 3 injection wells of the 20 injection wells which still experience a large enough heat loss so that periodic monitoring and evaluation is still needed. on the well which is still in trouble.
