Abstract

Human mobility that continues to increase from time by time makes energy use higher.The need for petroleum as an energy source is increasing in line with the current development of the Indonesian economy, while oil production in Indonesia has continued to decline since 1997. Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is a method that focuses on recovering the remaining oil reserves left in the reservoir after primary and secondary recovery. The EOR method using gas injection has become a common practice in the world since the 1970s. One of the gases that is often used is CO2 gas. CO2 injection is the second most widely used recovery enhancement method in the United States after steam flood because it provides a significant increase in recovery. CO2 injection is divided into several methods, namely the continuous injection method, the huff and puff method, and the water alternating gas method. The results of the continuous injection CO2 injection modeling obtained the RF results at the largest injection rate of 0.2 cc/min, the value is 35.42%. In immiscible conditions, the greater the injection pressure, the greater the oil recovery. That is, at a pressure of 1500 psi, the RF value is 31.43%. The injection direction also affects the RF value. The downward injection direction is a good direction for CO2 injection.
