Abstract
This study aims to determine the application of the cooperative learning model of the student teams achievement division (STAD) in improving the serviceability of volleyball students of class XI IPS.1 Pekanbaru YLPI High School. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. The form of this research is classroom action research. Research Design Research here is intended to conduct research on an action or effort in the learning process of students of class XI IPS.1 YLPI Pekanbaru High School which aims to improve student learning outcomes by using cooperative learning models of student teams achievment division (STAD). Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by percentage techniques. Based on the results of the study obtained in the first cycle adapted 41% of students in the category complete, while in the second cycle 81% of students in the complete category, so there are significant differences between the data before and after being given treatment. There was an increase of 40%. Thus it can be concluded that there is an increase in the ability of basic service techniques on volleyball students between students who learn to use cooperative learning models of achievement divisions types of students with students who learn to use conventional learning.
