Abstract
Produced Water is a by-product of oil and gas production. The compounds contained in the produced water are compounds that can pollute the environment, it is necessary to treat the produced water before being injected back into the earth's surface. Processing of the produced air is carried out by the filtration method, through three cartridges containing the filtration media. The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of oil & fat, as well as phenol, in the produced water treatment and to analyze the adsorption efficiency in the combination of the thickness of zeolite sand with additional filter media such as walnut shells and activated carbon. The activated carbon used is activated carbon made from physicochemical activated rice straw. The results of the iodine test from activated carbon are 968.4 mg/g, from the test results rice straw meets the requirements as a filtration medium based on the SNI 06-3730-1995 standard, which is a minimum of 750 mg/g. The results of the initial water sample testing included phenol 16,020 mg/L, and oil & fat 45.8 mg/L. After being filtered, the results of the adsorption efficiency obtained include, for zeolite with a thickness of 5, 10, 15 cm for the parameters of oil & grease are 7.2%, 18.5%, and 24.1%, then for the phenol parameter is 20, 9%, 32.1%, and 43.4%. The test results for zeolite thickness of 5cm, 10cm, and 15cm with additional media of walnut shell, and activated carbon, against oil & fat were 82.4%, 86.4%, and 88.8%, for phenol parameters, it was obtained 95.4 % , 96.6%, and 97.4%.
