Abstract

Attitude is a feeling, perception, and thoughts about an object that forms a tendency to acts and decides to support or not support and accept or not accept the object of the attitude. The purpose of this study was to described the people’s attitude towards ODS. Subject in this study were 348 people with cluster sampling technique. Collecting data in this study used a scale of community attitudes towards ODS which consisted of 18 items. The analysis data used was descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study were the majority of the people of Pekanbaru city had a fairly good attitude towards ODS at 37.1%. Based on the research data, it was found that the majority of Pekanbaru’s people in adolescent, people who are still student, had no relationship with ODS, and people who are educational background was high school / vocational school graduated had a pretty good attitude, while in the gender category the majority were female subject had unfavorably attitude towards ODS. The results of the statistical analysis of attitude based on the aspects showed that the cognitive aspect were good, while the affective aspect and behavioral aspect were quite good. It can be concluded that the people of Pekanbaru city had good knowledge about ODS and understand the what extent thee impact of ODS on their serenity so that people had positive feelings (affective) and the avoked action (behavior) of people was not negative.
