Abstract
One of the problems that arise in gas sales is that there is still water vapor in the gas, which later does not meet the gas sales requirements, so a gas separation process with water vapor content is needed. Gas dehydration is a process of separating the water vapor content in the gas. a gas, where the moisture content will be a problem in the gas pipeline flow, namely the hydrate which will become corrosive. Gas drying at the Betara and Geragai Gas Plants has 2 (two) methods, namely the absorption method using monoethylene glycol (MEG) at the Geragai Gas Plant, while the Betara Gas Plant uses the adsorption method using the Molsieve method. This study has the aim of analyzing the efficiency of the contactor using the Monoethylene Glycol method at the Geragai Gas Plant, based on the calculation, the efficiency of the contactor using MEG is 18.19%, the next goal is to analyze the efficiency of the contactor using the Molsieve method at the Betara Gas Plant, based on the calculation results by obtaining sample data. for 3 days the contactor efficiency was 32.16%, then in the analysis of the water vapor content absorbed by the contactor at the Geragai Gas Plant it was 4.84 ppm wt or 0.23 lbs/MMSCF, while the absorbent water vapor content absorbed by the contactor was at The Geragai Gas Plant averages 0.027 lbs/MMSCF.
