Abstract

When the production well experiences a decrease in the production layer, thus making the layer uneconomical to produce and the status of the well must be closed and safely abandoned., which is done in order to isolate the flow in the production zone from contaminating the surrounding water aquifer. In well X, three stages of cementing were carried out, namely from production casing, surface casing to well head, when the cementing process was carried out from the results of the CBL analysis carried out there was damage to cement on the surface casing where the amplitude value was 30 which indicated the quality of the cement bond on the surface casing was poor, so it was carried out cementing replanning on the surface casing. The squezee balance plug used to facilitate cementing in well X. This method was chosen for well X because it makes work easier and only uses drill pipe and tubing , and this method is very compatible with the characteristics of well X which has low pressure and also this method can withstand differences pressure on the pipe or casing which can result in a swabbing effect or backflow when pulling the string. Cement planning calculations such as, open end, volume to squeeze, casing volume, h slurry, water ahead volume, water behad volume, spacer height, specer level, fluid displacing volume, to determine the success rate of cementing in well X, a compressive strength within 10 minutes. This method is expected to be successful so that it can be applied to other wells that have problems such as well X field Y.
