Abstract

This study is titled "Analysis of Political News Based on the Element 5W + 1H in the Riau Post Newspaper". Research issues discussing the application of 5W + 1H in the discussion of news in the political rubric in the Riau Post newspaper. Research information regarding information gathering and data on the application of not 5W + 1H when agreeing to the news in the political rubric of the Riau Post newspaper. The theory used is the formula 5W + 1H in Djuraid's book in 2012. The source of the data and data of this researcher is political news and all political information contained in the Riau Post newspaper related to not 5W + 1H. This research method is the method of content analysis or analysis, the type of research is literature, and qualitative qualitative research research. The results of this study are: (1) the formula of what happened with what happened. The main factor of news is the event or situation, it has been applied to all the news that is the data of this research; (2) which formula is related to the place of the news program or news, has been applied to all news that becomes the data of this research; (3) the formula when related to an event or event occurs, in this study there is one news that does not apply the formula when inside it; (4) the formula is related to the characters who are the main characters in the news, has been applied to all the news that is the data of this research; (5) the formulation of why related to the question to uncover a fact can occur, has been applied to all the news that became the data of this research; (6) and the formulation of how to calculate with questions about how to deal with a problem, has been applied to all the news that is the data of this research. So, the news in the Riau Post newspaper that became the data of this research is that there is still one news that has not really been implemented in the 5W + 1H news, so the quality of the news does not meet the news standards.
