Abstract

The research was conducted in Riau Province which aims to find out the influence of the regional minimum wage free variable and investment on the dependent variable of labor absorption in Riau Province. In this study the authors conducted a quantitative analysis and multiple regression, the type used was time series data and processed data used, namely by using the program eviews 9.0. Where the main data sources used are regional minimum wage data (UMR) investment and employmen in 2008-2018 in Riau Province. The results showed that R2 is 0,977387. Which we can see that the independent variable is 97,74% (Regional Minimum Wage and Investment) which has been represented to explain the independent variable has a relationship with the dependent variable labor absorption. And the rest of 2,26% is found in other variables. Which where we can see the independent variables and the T test(Partial) where the Regional Minimum Wage Variable (X1) has a positive and significant effect on employment (y) in Riau Province, then the investment variable (X2) has a negative and significant effect on Absorption workforce (y) in Riau Province. Wheres as based the Regional Minimum wage variable (X1) has a positive and significant effect on employment (Y) in Riau Province, then the investment variable (X2) has a negative and significant effect on absorption worfkforce (y) in Riau Province. Where as based on the F test (Simultaneous) both independent variables simultaneouslly have a significant effect on Labor Absorption.
