Abstract

Indonesia is one of the tea exporting countries in the world. But Indonesia has not been able to dominate the market share as seen from the decline in the volume of tea exports each year. The export of this tea commodity needs to be increased to expand markets in the world so as to be able to increase the country's foreign exchange. This study aims to analyze (1) The development of Indonesia's tea export volume, productivity, domestic prices, international prices, consumption and the rupiah exchange rate for the years 1983-2016, (2) Factors influencing Indonesia's tea export supply. The method used in this research is the literature study, in analyzing the factors that influence the Indonesian tea export supply, the analytical method used is the Error Correction Model (ECM) analysis. Data used in the form of time series for 34 years from 1983-2016 sourced from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency, Directorate General of Plantations, World Bank. The results showed that the development of tea exports with growth of -0.87%, productivity by 0.64%, domestic prices by 9.57%, international prices by 0.67%, consumption by 3.02% and the rupiah exchange rate by 8.21%. The factors that affect Indonesia's tea export supply in the short run are productivity and domestic price variables that have a positive and significant effect, consumption variables have a negative and significant effect on Indonesia's tea export supply. Whereas in the long run, the productivity variable has a positive and significant effect, the international price and consumption variable has a negative and significant effect on Indonesia's tea export supply.
