Abstract
Watermelon supply chain analysis is needed to determine the flow of products, finance and information in order to meet consumer demand spread across several regions in Kampar Regency. Thus it is expected that producers can be more effective and efficient in marketing watermelon production. This study aims to: (1) Determine the characteristics of watermelon supply chain actors in Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, (2) Know the supply chain mechanism associated with product flow, information flow and financial watermelon in Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District Kampar Regency, (3) Analyzing the efficiency of the watermelon supply chain in Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method. Farmer respondents were taken by census as many as 24 farmers. Collector traders, retailers, and consumers are taken purposively, each with 5 people. Analysis of the data used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The aspects studied are product flow, information flow, financial flow, supply chain distribution costs, supply chain distribution margins, farmer's share and supply chain distribution efficiency. The results of this study indicate that the age of all respondents was at productive age. The average length of education of farmers is 10 years, collectors 10 years, retailers 11 years and consumers end of 11 years. The average farmer experience is 4 years, collectors 5 years and retailers 8 years. The number of dependents of the farmer's family is 5 people, 5 traders, 6 retailers and 6 consumers. The watermelon supply chain flow mechanism in Kubang Jaya Village consists only of watermelon farmers, collectors, retailers and end consumers and there is a product flow that flows from farmers to consumers. Financial flow flows from consumers to watermelon farmers and information flow flows from watermelon farmers to end consumers or vice versa. Marketing margin of Rp 3,800.00 / kg, total marketing costs of Rp. 668.58 / kg, farmer's share 24.00% with supply chain distribution efficiency of 13.37%.
