Abstract
Self-esteem is the most important things where it is carried out by each individual towards himself, which tends to affect his self-confidence and individual habits. The purpose of this study is to determine the description of the bride's self-esteem with the money assistance in the Riau Malay marriages tradition. The subjects in this study were 220 married couples and the prospective bride and groom of the Malay tribe in Riau. The data collection method used a self-esteem scale consisted of 10 items. The analysis used in this research was descriptive quantitative. Based on the analysis, it is known that the self-esteem of the bride is in the medium category. Meanwhile, there is no difference in self-esteem based on age. Based on the educational categorization scores, most of them were at high school level.
