Abstract

The theory used to discuss the elements of song form by Karl-Edmund Prier are 1) Motives, 2) Phrases, 3) Kadens, 4) Themes. Theories used to discuss the elements of music by Aaron Copland are 1) Rhythm (rhythm) 2) Melody, 3) Harmony 4) Timbre 5) Dynamics. The research method uses descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. The results of these studies are 1) find out the problem formulation that is how the form of the song Dendang Riau Pelipur Duka Karya M. Hasan in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The results of analyzing the form of the Dendang Riau Pelipur Duka song, the Dendang Riau Pelipur Duka song, were included in the Malay song festival material of the Culture and Tourism Office (Budsenipar).
