Abstract

Concrete is a construction material that is often used because it is easily formed and resistant to pressure. To get the quality of the concrete that is planned, then in its manufacture must use materials and water in accordance with SNI standards both as a mixing water and as a treatment. For under construction such as foundations and foundation columns, the treatment or curing process occurs with the surrounding water. If the construction is in a seafront area, the concrete is treated with sea water. Likewise with construction on riverbanks, peatlands, and high rainfall. This study aims to determine the effect caused by the water in the environment around concrete to the compressive strength value of concrete. In this study, clean water is used as a concrete mixer. While as a marinade used sea water, river water, peat water, rain water and clean water. Test specimens in the form of cylindrical size (150 mm x 300 mm), test specimens were treated and tested at the age of 7 and 28 days. Concrete compressive strength analysis is done by the method of SNI 03-2834-2000. Based on the study of the effect of the type of immersion water on concrete compressive strength, the results of the compressive strength of concrete for 7 days treatment of concrete by immersed in clean water obtained concrete compressive strength of 13.66 MPa, for the treatment of concrete in peat water by 13.28 MPa, for the treatment of concrete in rainwater by 12.22 MPa, for the treatment of concrete in seawater by 11.44 MPa and for the treatment of concrete by being immersed in river water by 12.99 MPa. Concrete compressive strength results 28 days old concrete treatment with immersed in clean water obtained concrete compressive strength of 22.32 MPa, for the treatment of concrete in peat water by 17.89 MPa, for concrete treatment in rainwater of 16.16 MPa , for the treatment of concrete in sea water by 15.39 MPa and for the treatment of concrete by being immersed in river water by 17.41 MPa. The results of the compressive strength of the concrete soaked at 28 days, all types of immersion water has increased. however, only clean water is suitable for use as a concrete treatment in this study because the compressive strength is above the quality of the plan, which is 22.32 MPa. While 4 other types of immersion water do not meet the requirements for concrete treatment because the strong value is below the quality of the plan (fc '= 20)
