Abstract

The main usability by instagram as means to share the photos in a way uploading it, so people can see it. There fore,communication between the user of instagram can involved with give”like” and also give comment to the photos that have been uploaded by other users. Followers also become one of the most important elements, where total of like directly proportional to the level of the photos fine ness and popularity. It is very influential on instagram social media. Instagram account named @mitrahotelpku establisehed since 2015. This account is and account that utilizes instagram as promotion media for hotels and guesthouses in pekanbaru. Instagram account @mitrahotelpku is the only one of instagram account that promote the hotel in pekanbaru. Al most all hotels in pekanbaru have cooperated with @mitrahotelpku. The approach used in this research is Qualitative approach. The purpose of this research to find out usage og instagram which choosed as media to promote the hotels in pekanbaru. From the result of the study, we can concloude that utilization of instagram by @mitrahotelpku is selected as hotels promotion media in pekanbaru has succeeded in influencing consumers this is proven by he results of the research with account owner and two peoples hotel repesentative who is a partner @mitrahotelpku many features that can be utilized on instagram, such as photos, feed, story, status, viewers, hastag can expanding the reach of hotel promotion by maximizing utilization features and media that available on istagram.
