Abstract

Sago in Latin Metroxylon sprottb, which means plants that store starch stems. Sago plants are hapaxanthic plants (flowering once in a life cycle) and soboliferous (tillers). Resin or cat's eye or often called gum resin is a superior product from forest products in Indonesia. Composite is a combination of two or more macrocopical materials. Macrocopics can be said to be approved as forming agents in a combination that still looks like they are approved, in contrast to the incorporation in alloys, whose metrial formation is no longer visible. This study aims to get priority from sago bark waste as fillers and resin as matrices by following the JIS A 5908-2003 standard reference. Objects containing particle boards made from sago palm and rosin with a mixed percentage: 60% sago bark + 40% resin, 50% sago bark + 50% resin, and 40% sago bark + 60% resin. This research is to get board particle on physical properties such as density, thickness development and air absorption, for mechanical properties is MOR. Of the three filler and matrix variation compositions obtained density, air absorption and development according to JIS A 5908-2003 standards, but for the excess standard JIS A 5908-2003 184 kg/cm2.
