Abstract

Mathematical learning that is considered difficult by most students results in low student learning outcomes being a challenge for a teacher to change learning that is interesting and can be liked by students, so students enjoy and can absorb mathematical concepts easily. The use of varied learning methods is one solution to solving these problems. In this study, researchers applied a Student Facilitator and Explaining type of cooperative learning model that aims to determine the effect of Student Facilitator cooperative learning models and Explaining the results of mathematics learning in class XI SMKS YPPI Tualang. The sample in this study was class XI TKJ 1 students as an experimental class and TOI 1 XI grade students as a control class. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with non equivalent control group design that uses purposive sampling technique. The instruments of data collection used in this study were the pretest and posttest sheets. The data collection technique used in this study is a test technique. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. In this study, the data of the two pretest of the two classes showed differences because of that using the test of the difference in the two N-gain averages.
