Abstract
This research was conducted in Pekanbaru. Regarding this research the object is the Pet Shop and Cat Shop business owner, the problem raised in this study is whether the application of accounting is conducted by Pet Shop and Cat Shop entrepreneurs in Pekanbaru is appropriate with the concept of accounting. The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability of application accounting conducted by Pet Shop and Cat Shop business owners in Pekanbaru with the basic concepts of accounting. Data collection techniques used in this study are primary and secondary. Collection method the data used by the writer are structured interviews, documentation and observation. While the data analysis used is descriptive method. The conclusion of this research is that in general Pet business owners Shop and Cat Shop in Pekanbaru in running their business using cash books. However, in the application of accounting in the Pet Shop business and Cat Shop in Pekanbaru are not in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting.
