Abstract

This research was conducted in Marpoyan Damai Sub-district, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The object of this research is the Daily Goods Store Business in Marpoyan Damai Sub-district. The problem in this study is the application of accounting applied by the business owner of daily goods store in Marpoyan Damai Sub-district whether it has been in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting. The purpose of this research was to determine the suitability of the application of accounting in the daily goods store business in Marpoyan Damai Sub-district with the basic concepts of accounting. The types of data in this study are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis. The result of this research is that the average business owner is already a little familiar with accounting, but the recording process is still very simple and still a lacks of understanding of good bookkeeping. The basis of recording used is cash-based recording. Most of the daily goods store businesses in Marpoyan Damai Sub-district have not applied the concept of business continuity, the concept of business entity and the concept of matching but have applied the concept of time period. Overall, the accounting application applied by the business owner of Daily Goods Store business in Marpoyan Damai Sub-district has not been in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting.
