Abstract

Gondang siamo is one of the songs in gondang music that is used to accompany silat pangian. The formulation of the problem in this study is What are the musical elements found in Pangian Silat Music (Gondang Siamo) At a Wedding Ceremony in the Village of Tebing Tinggi Okura, Kecamatan Rumbai Pesisir, Kota Pekanbaru? and what is the function of Pangian Silat Music (Gondang Siamo) At a Wedding Ceremony in Tebing Tinggi Okura Village, Rumbai Pesisir District, Pekanbaru City ?, with the aim to find out musical elements contained in Pangian (Gondang.) Music Pengiring Silat Siamo) At a Wedding Ceremony in Tebing Tinggi Okura Village and for know what is the function of Pangian Silat Music (Gondang Siamo) on Wedding Ceremony in Tebing Tinggi Okura Village. Method used in this study the descriptive method is descriptive. Approach the qualitative approach is used. Data collection techniques are: observation techniques, interview techniques and documentation techniques. Elements in music gondang siamo, namely rhythm, melody, tempo, tone, and dynamic. On the results of observations found rhythm is found in all instruments, the melody is only in Calempong, the tempo used is 100 or moderato, birama ¾. Functions contained in gondang siamo music that is the function of emotional expression, entertainment function, function communication, symbolic representation functions, physical response functions, and functions about Contributions to Continuity and Cultural Stability.
